In the month of October, 2011, TAI in partnership with African Achievers Awards presented the first African Achievers Awards (AAA) to Archbishop Desmond Tutu, in recognition of his works in promoting human rights, peace and justice. This award was given to the Archbishop on the occasion of his 80th birthday celebrated at King’s College London.

At the reception attended by approximately 50 guests, KCLSU Vice President Simisola Smith presented Archbishop Tutu with the first-ever African Achievers Award on behalf of the Transforming Africa Initiative, a nongovernmental organisation based in Nigeria. See more @ King’s College London webpage
